Huawei’s HarmonyOS now have over 40 million users globally –


Yesterday, at the official launch of the Huawei P50 series, Yu Chengdong,  CEO of the Consumer BG at Huawei Technologies, revealed that 40 million Huawei users now have HarmonyOS 2 system. This system started rolling out on June 2 which means that it has been rolling out for less than two months. At this pace, it shows that 8 new users get upgrades to HarmonyOS every second.

According to Yu Chengdong, in the near future, Huawei Mate 9, P10, and other models will get the update. The company is looking forward to more users getting connected in the IoT era. According to previous announcements, the Huawei Mate 9 series and P10 series will get HarmonyOS in the first half of 2022. Although these devices are five years old and come with Kirin 960 chips. This shows Huawei’s commitment to releasing HarmonyOS for all its existing smartphones. After just a month of HarmonyOS rollout, Huawei had well over 25 million devices running this system.

Fourth batch of devices for the HarmonyOS update

Last week, the fourth batch of Huawei / Honor devices started getting the HarmonyOS system. The list contains 14 smartphones that are currently getting the HarmonyOS internal beta. The devices currently getting the update includes

  • Huawei Mate 10 Pro
  • Huawei nova 5i
  • Huawei-Mate 10 Porsche Design
  • Huawei nova 4

  • Honor-X10 Max
  • Honor 30 Youth Edition
  • Honor Play4

After Huawei officially announced the HarmonyOS system on June 2, it also launched the largest upgrade plan in its history.  The company also announced that it will upgrade the HarmonyOS system for more than 100 devices before the second half of next year. These devices will include both Huawei and Honor smartphones, tablets, smart screens, and more. Furthermore, the company plans that over 300 million devices will have this system by the end of the year. Its schedule shows that out of this number, 200 million will be its own devices. The other 100 million devices will come from third-party manufacturers.
